It’s going to thunderstorm tonight…
and that makes me think of Vivaldi. My favourite concerto is Summer (Concerto No2 Sol Mineur Op8 No2) from Four Seasons. It sounds like a thunderstorm - first it’s the wind coming through, dancing, in the Allegro; in the Adagio there is the forboding eerie calm before the storm; finally there is the tempestuous Presto with driving rain and thunder.
(Did any of you ever listen to “Vivaldi’s Ring of Mystery,” or “Beethoven Lives Upstairs,” or “Tchaikovsky Discovers America” by Classical Kids? Listening to those cassettes as a kid had a huge effect on me.)
